Full residential replacement in San Antonio with GAF Timberline HDZ Class 3 impact-resistant shingles — a UL 2218 Class 3 rated shingle that may qualify the homeowner for an insurance premium discount in Texas.
The existing shingles were torn off down to the decking and rotten or damaged sheets of plywood were swapped out before any new material went down. GAF FeltBuster synthetic underlayment was rolled across the field, with GAF StormGuard peel-and-stick reinforcing the valleys, eaves, and penetrations. The roof was finished with GAF Timberline HDZ Class 3 shingles in the field and capped with Seal-A-Ridge — built as a complete GAF system from deck to ridge so the homeowner qualifies for an enhanced GAF system warranty.
